There were sooooo many pretty glass vases and bowls... and believe it or not a plethora of gorgeous blue and gold deviled egg serving plates! It was so hard to choose! But after browsing through all there was to offer I decided on this one for $8....
I can't wait to go back and get a few more pieces! I'm going to need a bookcase to display them on.
The frames were not as plentiful at the antique mall as the milk glass was. There were a few big ornate ones that I liked but one was $89 and the other was $35 and so we held off on those... we did find an empty gold ornate oval frame with the old wire showing through. Then Holly spotted this thick beveled square wooden frame. It was also empty! So there I was with two empty frames and I had NO CLUE what I was going to do with them....all I knew is I liked them a lot! Then Holly who has the best ideas ever suggested I do an 'empty frame' wall going up my staircase! Could this day get any better??? Yes it could! Remember that ornate frame I wanted so badly? Well on a last minute whim (Holly seems to have great luck with these) she said we should swing by one more stop....
This next thrifting stop was also huge but there were lots of people there and it was looking pretty picked through....until....Holly spotted a lovely big ornate frame! Yay and at only $19 that was just the icing on the cake.

I forgot to take before pictures of all three frames but here they are after I painted them...ready to make their debut on the staircase
I love how big these frames are! This wall is the biggest wall in our whole house and they fit perfectly on it!
Thanks for the SWEET idea Holly! I think I went up and down the stairs like 10 times for no reason today...just to admire my frame wall!

She sure does have great luck with these ornate frames! I've been on the hunt for one similar to your $19 find ever since I saw her frame she put corkboard in for her hallway & have had no such luck so far. Looks beautiful little lady. :) And it's always a plus when the hubby mentions he likes it.
Because I'm completely clueless, can you share the paint used on the frames? Did you use a white, latex paint or did you spray paint them? They look beautiful up there!
Ah! I love those frames!!!! I wish I had an antique mall or something near me! I'm having the hardest time finding some!

I like those! (And you just know I'd be doing all sorts of spooky things to them for Halloween - yup...I'm obsessed!) I hit the thrift store here on Saturday and walked away with a box of stuff for $20 - including 5 milk glass pieces. I agree - they are so pretty! Great job!!!

The stairwell looks great. We have a window in ours, but the two side walls are crying for something, so I might have to try something similar.

I love it, and think its funny that you went up and down the stairs 10 times. I would be doing the same thing too just admiring it.

I loved them so much before and now seeing them white they are 1000 times more beautiful!!!! That wall seriously looks like something out of a magazine! I will keep my eyes peeled for more to add to your wall (look out! This wall could get crazy)~

Jeannine- the paint I used was some left over paint by Behr called Oyster....it really is such a pretty pale grey-white. I sprayed them with a paint sprayer and the paint is latex....no primer or sanding.
Pretty Little Things- yes we went to the one on Gateway! It re-opened apparently...I had never been before. It was FABULOUS! I cannot wait to go back. Its so close to the university Im thinkin I might make a detour on the way home :)
